What is the difference between the business listing and directory submission?


Business listing and Directory submission are quite similar to each other, their purpose is same, but both have different platforms. In SEO, both of them are important to ensure smooth development of services. Some of the common differences between them are-

  • In business listing, there is a requirement of verifying phone number and address whereas in directory submission, no such thing is required.

  • Under directories, we add our website in the directories sites while in business listing we add our website in google through Google Maps.

  • Business listing is known to be more powerful and effective as compared with directories because they give better ROI and higher value to the website.

  • A directory will only show the title and description about our website whereas a business listing consists of business information such as phone number, working hours, payment modes, working days, address, etc. It further helps in promotion of the business.

  • Directory is risky because many times it lacks in value due to spam submission. Thus, Instead directory submission business listing is more reliable and preferable.
